Creating the brand
At Zone we created The Pepperhood, a college fraternity to bring Dr Pepper’s fans together with one aim – to find out ‘What’s the worst that could happen?’.
Inspired by influences like American Pie, Road Trip, Animal House and Glory Daze, the branding and visual style had a distinctly American collegiate feel.
The core designs
In keeping with the collegiate feel, I designed the visual style to have strong visual cues including wood backgrounds, sports pennants and distressed text.
New challenges were added fortnightly where uses could win prizes like Xboxes and TVs, and there was close integration with Facebook allowing users to post status messages and invite their friends.
The challenges are in various formats, including multiple choice quizzes and flash games.
We also created a mobile optimised site to keep the fun and games going on.
